Analytical tools for monitoring trends

Updated over 4 months ago

The Insights section of the Waved app shows the measured sound activity of your venue. The analytical tools here allow you to review comprehensive sound data and monitor trends from real-time sound activity at any time of day.

Think of it as the beating pulse of your venue's heart - where you can view detailed data over time, analyse trends, and predict future activity at your venue. Insights allows you to review historic data, improve scheduling and optimise ambience to enhance your guests' experience.

The sections below explain how to navigate and understand Waved Insights data:

Decibel

The decibel monitor provides daily records of average hourly Decibel readings, for each Zone in your venue where Waved sensors are installed.

This allows for a quick overview of sound data readings and warns you if the volume ever exceeds harmful levels. Particularly helpful for avoiding any health risks to your colleagues and guests, or if you ever need to present historic Decibel levels to your neighbours or local authority in case any disputes arise in the future.

The date selector above the graphs allows you to navigate between days by using the ⬅︎ or ➡︎ arrows or select an historic date by clicking the month and year above, then using the calendar view to select a date and data set further back in time.

The main bar graph presents Decibel levels on the Y-axis and hours along the X-axis. A more detailed Decibel reading of each hourly average can be shown by hovering or selecting a particular time block. Summary graphs of other Zones in your venue are shown on the right-hand column, with the larger selected Zone highlighted in green.

Below the main graph are two data sets and a button which are summarised below:

Max Decibel: reading shows the maximum Decibel reached for the selected day.

Average Decibel: reading shows the average Decibel measured for the selected day.

Generate PDF Report: clicking this button will create a downloadable PDF report for your venue for the selected day. The report will present hourly graphs, minimum, maximum and average Decibel readings and Peak hour for each Zone at your venue.

Automation

The Automation monitor provides daily and weekly records of Ambience and Music levels, while also generating trends based on historic data, for each Zone in your venue where Waved sensors are installed.

This allows for a quick overview of sound data readings and guest activity in your venue. Importantly, it also demonstrates the total number of automatic volume adjustments, allowing you to focus on your guests, by using the power of Waved.

The date selector above the graphs allows you to navigate between days by using the ⬅︎ or ➡︎ arrows or by clicking Day or Week to switch between views. You can also select an historic date by clicking the month and year above, then using the calendar view to select a date and data set further back in time.

The main line graph presents Ambience Decibel levels or Music Volume % on the Y-axis and days or hours along the X-axis. The key above the graph showing Music, Ambience, Music trend and Ambience trend can also be individually toggled on and off for more legible data sets you want to focus on. Summary graphs of other Zones in your venue are shown on the right-hand column, with the larger selected Zone highlighted in green.

Below the main graph are two data sets which are summarised below:

Peak hour: shows the busiest and loudest hour of service for the selected day.

Adjustments: reading shows the number of automatic volume adjustments Waved has carried out (so you don't have to) throughout service for the selected day.

Live

The Live monitor provides the current Decibel and active readings for the last 15 minutes, for each Zone in your venue where Waved sensors are installed.

Each Zone block presents the Live decibel reading in green, at the top right corner and shows the trending decibel line in blue for the last 15 minutes. The data sets below show daily average, maximum and minimum Decibel readings for each Zone.

Map

If your venue has a heat Map, it will be displayed here. The Map is mainly used to illustrate if any sensors are offline, which helps our service technicians locate any hardware faults to quickly resolve any issues and minimise any down time.

Below the Map there are three buttons, Live, History and Trend, which summarise previously detailed and described areas of the Insights section of the Waved app.
